Rādha asks the Buddha about what is of painful nature, and the Buddha explains in terms of the five aggregates.

Seated to one side, Venerable Rādha said to the Buddha:

“Sir, they speak of having ‘suffering nature’. What is of a nature to suffer?”

“Rādha, form, feeling, perception, choices, and consciousness are of a nature to suffer.

Seeing this … They understand: ‘… there is nothing further for this place.’”
