Sīlavanta sutta: Ethical

Sīlavantasutta

Cūḷavagga

Villagers make good karma when good mendicants are there.

“Mendicants, when ethical renunciates are supported by a town or village, the people there brim with much merit in three ways. What three? By way of body, speech, and mind. When ethical renunciates are supported by a town or village, the people there brim with much merit in these three ways.”
